This is a unique opportunity for a Family Practice physician on a lake in northern Maine near the border of Canada. The organization would prefer a DO that does OMT and OB. The position can be tailored to the individual in regards to OMT and family medicine. It includes both outpatient and inpatient services for patients of the practice, although it is about 95% outpatient. The responsibilities of this position also include three evenings of on call during the week for own patients, and inpatients are covered by a hospitalist at the hospital Friday from 5pm to Monday at 8am. This organization offers a competitive salary and a generous benefits plan. They are willing to assist with relocation costs and the area does qualify for National Health Service Corp Loan repayment. Other benefits include: generous vacation time, malpractice coverage, CME, 100% paid Health insurance, paid time off, short term disability, and life insurance. The typical schedule for a Family Practice physician at this facility is Monday 9 to noon, Tuesday 9 to 5, Wednesday 9 to 5, Thursday noon to 8, and Friday 9 to 5. This position involves practicing at two nearby facilities. One facility was recently renovated in 2010 and the other is well maintained. Many of the residents of this area speak French; however, they do understand English. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a very snowy area of Maine with great skiing, hunting, and fishing opportunities. |
